About Rose Marie Cruz, Founder and Director

Ms. Cruz, Owner and Director of CRUZ DANCE & ENTERTAINMENT for 40 years, has commendations from the Mayor, House of Representatives, California Legislature, Governor of California, and the Congress of the U.S.

Her talented students have performed around the world, on film, television, and in commercials. Her personal studies have been extensive in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Afro-Cuban, Ballroom, Mexican Folklorico, Classical Spanish and Flamenco, and have included the San Francisco Ballet, Santa Barbara Ballet, Jose Greco Spanish Dance Company, and Ballet Folklorico de Mexico.

Her most memorable performances include a command performance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Ms. Cruz has also been a lecturer and taught Master Classes at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and has coordinated Flamenco dance study programs in Spain as well as Folklorico dance studies at the world famous Palacio de Bailes Artes in Mexico City.

A Native Santa Barbaran, Ms. Cruz has been part of Fiesta, in Santa Barbara, her entire life. Her Company has performed throughout California, New Orleans Mardi Gras, Oahu, Hawaii parades, and Barcelona, Spain; Amusement Parks, Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Mountain and Disneyland. Participation in the film industry and television.

Ms. Cruz has also served as a USA Dance Pageant Judge and as a
Costume Designer (Recipient of Costume Awards).

Annual, Formal Christmas & Awards Banquet in Recognition of Students, Parents, Community personnel Annual Stage Review "Showcase" - presentation of all dance levels, varieties, vocalists, Community Guest Artists,and Musicians.
